Group programmes for young people
The Freedom Programme is a group programme for 16-21 year old women who want to avoid abusive relationships. In a confidential setting, young women can share their experience with others, become empowered to make positive choices and learn to have more control over their life. Up to eight young women will meet over six weeks with a group leader trained in the Freedom Programme. The next group starts at the Brandon Centre after Easter. Telephone 020 7267 4792 to make a referral or to self refer.
The Brandon Centre will be running an eight-week Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) anger management group from 5th May for up to eight young people aged 16 to 21. The group will cover formulation (where the anger beliefs came from), monitoring anger and labelling emotions, role play and developing new strategies. As the group is based on a CBT model of anger management young people will be expected to practice anger management strategies, for example keeping an anger diary, as part of the learning process. Telephone 020 7267 4792 to make a referral or to self refer.
